Simone de Beauvoir (1908-1986) was a close friend and lover to Jean-Paul Sartre and was a frequent editor of his works.
In addition to Sartre, de Beauvoir had a great interest in the works of many other philosophical thinkers of her time, including Albert Camus. On her own, she is most recognized for her work The Second Sex which most clearly establishes de Beauvoirs feminist views.
